About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer & Team Lead to join our Madrid office on a hybrid basis. This is a permanent position where you will lead a talented team of developers while maintaining hands-on involvement in architectural decisions and code implementation. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Java, Spring Boot, and AWS to build scalable enterprise solutions. Your leadership will guide the team through complex technical challenges while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Who are we looking for

We're looking for a passionate technical leader with deep expertise in Java development and proven team management experience. You should have a minimum of 8+ years in software development with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Your ideal profile includes:

Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot ecosystem
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and microservices architecture
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior developers
Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English
Experience managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations
Knowledge of TypeScript for full-stack understanding
Agile/Scrum methodology experience

Skills and competencies

Essential technical competencies:

Java 11+ and Spring Boot framework
AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation)
REST API design and microservices architecture
Database design (SQL and NoSQL)
Git and CI/CD pipelines
Software development best practices and design patterns
TypeScript and frontend technologies

Team leadership and conflict resolution
Technical mentoring and coaching abilities
