We are seeking an experienced Senior Functional Analyst to join our dynamic team in Madrid. As a Functional Analyst, you will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and our technology team, ensuring that complex functional requirements are accurately translated into innovative technical solutions. Who are we looking for

We are looking for a talented professional with a strong background in functional analysis and business process optimization. The ideal candidate should have proven experience working in banking or financial services environments, with a deep understanding of risk management systems and recovery processes. You must be fluent in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills to effectively liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications will be essential to your success in this role.

Skills and competencies

Proficiency in functional analysis methodologies and process mapping tools
Advanced knowledge of banking systems, particularly in risk management and recovery procedures
Strong SQL and database query skills for data analysis and validation
Experience with business process automation and workflow optimization
Proficiency in tools such as Visio, JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization
Strong problem-solving abilities and logical thinking
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Requirements and additional details

Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in banking or financial services
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish; fluent English required
Knowledge of financial regulations (GDPR, MiFID II) is a plus
Experience with legacy systems modernization preferred
On-site position based in Madrid, Spain
