Senior Embedded Systems Engineer - Aerospace Systems en Barcelona, España

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our innovative aerospace technology team in Spain. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded systems for advanced flight simulation and aviation applications. This is a Full-time, on-site position where you'll work with cutting-edge hardware and software technologies to create solutions that push the boundaries of aviation simulation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, aerospace specialists, and project managers to deliver high-quality products that meet strict industry standards.

Who are we looking for

We're looking for a talented engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and hardware design, preferably with experience in aerospace or aviation industries. You should be passionate about solving complex technical challenges and have excellent problem-solving skills. A candidate with 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, proficiency in both hardware design tools and programming languages, and familiarity with aerospace standards (such as DO-254 and DO-178) would be ideal. You must be fluent in Spanish and English, as you'll be working with both local and international teams. Your attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as in teams are essential.

Skills and competencies

• Expert knowledge of embedded systems design and microcontroller programming (ARM, x86)
• Proficiency in hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog) and FPGA development
• Strong understanding of digital electronics, signal processing, and real-time systems
• Experience with CAD tools for PCB design (Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar)
• Excellent C/C++ and Python programming skills
• Knowledge of avionics systems, flight simulation software, and aviation standards
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies
• Strong communication skills in Spanish and English
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to work on complex, mission-critical systems

Additional requirements

You must hold or be able to obtain security clearance for aerospace projects. Valid work authorization in Spain is required. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and system integration activities is expected. Knowledge of DO-254, DO-178C, and IEC 61508 standards is highly desirable. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks or QNX is a plus.
