Clarivate is looking to expand its data science team with a talented Senior Data Scientist to join us in Europe, on a hybrid model, from our Barcelona Office.

Identify strategic information needs of internal or external clients and translate these into effective, performant and impactful AI solutions.
Work in collaboration with other Data Scientists to create solutions that support professional, highly skilled decision makers in their innovation workflow.
Explore existing data for insights and recommend additional sources of data for improvements.
Perform exploratory analysis to uncover insights and identify opportunities for innovation.
Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and measure business impact.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful integration and deployment of solutions into production environments.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Contribute to the adoption of best practices in machine learning, experimentation, and model evaluation.
At least 5 years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Data Science, or a related technical field, including the delivery of AI/ML/NLP solutions in production environments.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience across the machine learning lifecycle, including data acquisition, preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, and ranking.
At least 5 years of Python development experience, including building, testing, and deploying production-grade applications, data pipelines, or machine learning solutions.
At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based ML platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure) and MLOps technologies such as Docker and MLflow in enterprise or production environments.
At least 3 years of experience working in Agile software development environments, including code reviews, version control, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and delivering solutions in situations with evolving requirements and ambiguity
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for staying current with advancements in machine learning, NLP, generative AI, and related technologies.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with peers, present technical work, incorporate feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
This is a permanent full-time contract, we work regular CET hours in Europe, in a hybrid model, with flexibility to accommodate a healthy work-life balance.
Within a larger Data Science, Search and Content team of about 100 people (of which 40+ are Data Scientists and ML Engineers), we are a team of 8 Data Scientists located in Belgium, Spain & the US that work predominantly on IP data and products (trademarks, patents and case law for both) though we do the occasional sidestep to other domains as well. We interact with Clarivate's Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations divisions on a regular basis to make sure we deliver optimal internal and external customer value. With multiple Principal Data Scientists in the team, we can offer excellent support to help you grow in your role. Also, while a lot of work we do originates from customer requests, we also do a fair share of explorative and POC work to help our internal customers understand the business value of the latest technologies.

We are mainly using Python for model and code development, you can use whatever IDE & tools you like best (we have people using PyCharm, Databricks, Jupyter Notebook,...), model deployment is on either AWS or Google Cloud depending on the internal customer's preference, projects are assigned on a quarterly basis but most span multiple quarters up to a year and a half. Over the past 2 decades, we've covered everything from UX experiments, decision support systems, search engines, information extraction, machine learning, generative AI - you name it. So the work you'll be doing will be quite varied and allow you to expand and apply your knowledge on all the latest developments in the AI/ML/MLP domains.
