About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Python Developer to join our innovative technology team in Madrid. This is a Full-time, on-site position where you will lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems using Python and modern frameworks. You'll work on mission-critical applications serving millions of users, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior developers and shape the technical direction of our backend infrastructure.

Who are we looking for

We're looking for an experienced Python developer with a passion for clean code and system design. You should have at least 6+ years of professional experience building robust backend systems. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of projects from conception to production deployment. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are essential. You should be proactive in identifying technical debt and proposing innovative solutions. A deep understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices is required.

Skills and competencies

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and modern frameworks (Django, FastAPI, or similar)
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and GraphQL
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
• Git version control and Agile methodology experience
