The role
As a Data Engineer within R&D Operations at Verisure, you will help us understand how millions of connected devices and services perform in the real world, turning technical and operational data into insights that support better products, reliable services, and improved customer experiences.
You will work together with colleagues across engineering, QA, release management and operations to bring information together from different sources. You will help teams understand product behaviour, investigate technical issues, assess software releases, and identify opportunities for improvement.
The role combines hands-on data engineering with technical analysis and collaboration. You will help develop our operational data capabilities and turn findings into recommendations that support better decisions across R&D.
You will join a supportive international R&D team where people share knowledge, listen to different perspectives and learn from each other.
What you will be up to
- Collect, structure and combine technical and operational data from multiple sources to develop reliable datasets
- Analyse product telemetry, logs and operational metrics to identify trends, anomalies and performance issues
- Develop data models, KPIs and analytical solutions that help teams understand product and service performance
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA and Operations to investigate field issues, support root-cause analysis and recommend improvements
- Support software and firmware releases by analysing performance across versions, devices and deployments
- Improve observability, automate recurring analysis and help identify potential issues earlier
- Work closely with stakeholders across R&D to understand their needs, share insights and support informed decisions
Good fit if you have
- A couple of years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Observability or a similar technical role
- Good SQL skills and practical experience with Python or a comparable programming language
- Experience combining, analysing and validating technical or operational data from different sources
- Experience investigating technical issues, identifying patterns and turning data into actionable insights
- Experience developing KPIs, automated reports, dashboards or other analytical solutions
- Curiosity about how technical systems work, combined with the ability to communicate findings clearly
- A collaborative mindset, willingness to share knowledge across teams and professional proficiency in English

- Azure Data Explorer, Kusto, Azure Monitor or Application Insights
- Power BI, Grafana, Kibana or other monitoring and visualisation tools

- Is this primarily a Data Engineering or Data Analytics role?
It combines both, with a focus on technical and operational analysis. You will use datasets, SQL, Python and analytical tools, while helping teams understand what the data reveals about our products and services. It is not primarily a dashboard-production or traditional BI role.
- Do I need experience with IoT or connected devices?
No. Experience in these areas is welcome but not essential. We will help you learn about our products and systems. Your curiosity, analytical experience and willingness to learn matter more
- Will I work with stakeholders outside my immediate team?
Yes. You will collaborate with colleagues across Engineering, QA, Release Management, Product and Operations to access relevant information and support technical investigations.
