Duties and Responsibilities

As Assistant Front of House Manager, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of theFront Office department to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.

My duties and responsibilities will include:

Assist the Rooms Division Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the Front Office, ensuring smooth and efficient guest arrivals, departures, and in-house experiences.
Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the Front Office team, fostering a culture of emotional hospitality, continuous learning, and empowerment.
Act as Manager on Duty when required and support operational decision-making across the Rooms Division.
Ensure all guests receive warm, personalized, and intuitive service throughout their stay, anticipating needs and resolving concerns promptly.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all hotel facilities, room categories, rates, packages, promotions, and guest services.
Support the management of room inventory, room assignments, upgrades, and occupancy optimization in collaboration with the Reservations team.
Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Guest Experience, Engineering, Spa, F&B, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and flawless guest journeys.
Monitor daily arrivals, departures, VIPs, long stays, repeat guests, and special requests, ensuring all preferences are prepared in advance.
Ensure guest profiles and preferences are accurately maintained within Opera PMS to deliver personalized experiences.
Supervise the Front Office team in handling reservations, check-in, check-out, billing, cashiering, foreign currency procedures, and guest enquiries.
Ensure compliance with Six Senses standards, Forbes Travel Guide standards, LQA requirements, and brand operating procedures.
Support the implementation of departmental objectives, budgets, and productivity targets while maintaining effective cost control.
Monitor departmental performance through guest feedback, quality audits, and operational reports, implementing improvements where necessary.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance evaluations, and succession planning within the Front Office team.
Deliver departmental training and ensure all Hosts understand hotel procedures, emergency protocols, data protection requirements, and service standards.
Ensure all legal, health & safety, security, and GDPR requirements are consistently followed.
Promote sustainability initiatives throughout the Front Office operation and encourage environmentally responsible practices among Hosts and guests.
Handle guest complaints and service recovery situations with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, ensuring memorable resolutions.
Support pre-opening activities, including SOP implementation, system testing, recruitment, training, and operational readiness as required.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Assistant Front of House Manager, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 2–4 years of Front Office or Guest Services experience, including supervisory responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in a luxury lifestyle or Forbes/LQA environment.
Be fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages are preferred.
