Impact of a Senior Analytics Engineer

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will join our Data Science and Engineering team at Upsun to help our company make smarter choices. You will do this by helping us better understand our customers and internal operations. You will work with large amounts of platform and business data to create clear insights that improve our product and decisions. In this role, you will use SQL, Python, DBT, Hex, Metabase, and GCP data tools. You will work on important projects like building new data models with Salesforce and financial data, or working with AI tools and cloud cost modeling (FinOps).

• Data modeling and architecture: You will design and build models that turn raw data into useful metrics and data products, using DBT and medallion architecture.

• Metric design & ownership: You will define what success looks like for our products, setting up and tracking key business metrics.

• Cross-functional collaboration: You will work with technical and non-technical teams to collect requirements, share methods, and teach best practices for using data.

• Technical leadership: You will lead data modeling projects, choosing the right tools and planning how to complete the work.

• Scalable solutions: You will work efficiently with data of all sizes, including petabyte-scale datasets, to help everyone make data-based decisions.

• Strategic advisory: You will guide partner teams by creating and explaining analytical metrics, helping them understand how data impacts different parts of the product and business.

• Operational efficiency: You will improve our team's processes and code by creating well-documented solutions that can be used again in the future.

• Evolving modern stack: You will use modern tools (GCP BigQuery, AWS S3, Fivetran, Hightouch, and AI tools like Claude Code) and help us improve our data architecture as it grows.

• Global remote culture: You will work with a worldwide, remote team that values learning, open source software, and new ideas.

At Upsun, remote work isn't just a trend - it's our foundation. The freedom of remote work with the support of a diverse, global team has been our successful model for over a decade. Our culture celebrates flexibility and collaboration, and while we have team members in over 30 countries around the globe, we are currently focused on hiring for this role in France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Although we're unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time, we welcome applications from all qualified candidates who are legally authorized to work in these countries.

We know that a great hire won't meet every requirement that we've outlined. If you can see yourself elevating the team, we want to hear your story. Few of us would be here had we not taken a chance.

You can expect 4 interviews on Google Meet to follow the order below. Should you successfully move through the entire process you will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of Upsunners. Our goal is to ensure you can make the most informed decision on whether this role, and our culture aligns with what you're looking for in your future working environment.

1. 45 Minutes with Talent Acquisition
2. 60 Minutes with Hiring Manager (Director, Data Engineering and Data Science)
3. 60 Minutes with Team (ICs)
4. 45 Minutes with Executive (CFO)

All roles require background checks.

At Upsun, we celebrate diversity in all its forms and are committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive. We embrace and value different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, because they make us stronger as a team. Whoever you are, wherever you're from, and whatever path you've taken, you are welcome here. We encourage you to bring your whole self to work, connect with others, and share your passion.
