What we're looking for

We are looking for a junior person, with real experience modeling data with dbt and a desire to develop their career in Data within a technology company.

For us, the most important things are:

Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent.
Real experience modeling data with dbt.
Advanced SQL: CTEs, window functions, and query optimization on analytical models.
Sufficient Python for scripting, analytics, automation, and API consumption.
Git and collaborative workflows (pull requests, code review).
Real interest in applied AI: use of LLMs to accelerate development and curiosity about applying it to the data domain.
Good communication with non-technical teams.
Fluent Spanish and English.

Nice to have

Bonus points if...

You have integrated language model APIs into real workflows, worked with orchestrators like Airflow or Dagster, have notions of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) to connect LLMs with internal data, or have used semantic layers or metric definition tools.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

Hybrid model: 3 days a week in our Madrid office (metro Cuzco).
Full remote work during summer, Christmas, and Easter.
Flexible schedule, with core hours from 10:00 to 17:00.
Friday intensive working day.
26 days of vacation.
Private health insurance.
Flexible compensation: meal vouchers, childcare vouchers, and other benefits.
Welcome pack.
Team events and activities.
Coffee, fruit, and snacks in the office.
Continuous training and learning.
You are one of the first people on the Data team and build it from scratch.
And, above all, plenty of space to grow, gain autonomy, and take on more and more responsibility as Zenova grows.

The role

Zenova is a Madrid-based tech scale-up that is transforming energy management for large companies and real estate groups through software, data, and AI. We build technology to better understand energy, anticipate needs, and make smarter decisions.

Behind it all is a great product, a lot of ambition, and an incredible team that pushes every day to make possible something that, until recently, seemed impossible. We are building the technology that will define the future of energy. And every day we are getting closer.

We are looking to bring an Analytics Engineer (Junior) into our new Data team, reporting directly to the Head of Data.

We are building the Data team from scratch and are looking for one of its first hires: an analytical, curious person eager to explore how AI and data can be applied to analytical work.

This is not a reporting role: it is a data design role, where the model you build today is the source of truth the business will use tomorrow.

You don't need to arrive knowing everything. We look for a good foundation in SQL, Python, and dbt and, above all, a desire to understand the business and build something with real impact.

What you'll do

You will be part of a team that exists to turn business questions into reliable answers, promote a data culture, and take the product to the next level.

You will work very closely with business, product, and other teams, designing the data models that the entire company will use.

As you learn, you will take on your own models, metrics, and projects with greater autonomy and responsibility.

Data modeling

Design and build data models in dbt, applying layered architecture.
Design Zenova's semantic layer of metrics.
Build and maintain the data catalog, and help with its implementation and adoption within the organization.

Business & data culture

Collaborate with business areas to translate ambiguous questions into data models with a clear and defensible definition.
Support non-technical teams in the use of data and metrics.

Applied AI

Explore and implement AI solutions applied to data, both for internal tools and for products and features for our customers.
Use LLMs to accelerate your own development.

How you'll work

📍 Madrid · Hybrid model (3 days/week)

Hiring process

We want the process to be agile, transparent, and for you to also have space to get to know us and decide if Zenova is the place where you want to grow.

01. Interview with People A first conversation to get to know each other, understand your motivations, what you are looking for in your next stage, and tell you in detail about the project and the role.

02. Technical interview With the Head of Data, we will work together on a small modeling case inspired by real situations the team faces. We are not looking for a perfect answer: we want to understand how you think, how you structure a problem, and how you arrive at a solution.

03. Final interview A final conversation with a member of the management team to better understand Zenova's vision, our way of working, and to ensure there is a fit for both parties.
