How AI helps us find great people

Think of our AI tool as a really smart assistant for our recruitment team. Its job? To help us move faster, stay consistent, and make sure no great candidates are overlooked. Every application goes through the same AI review to help us spot skills that match the role - but don't worry, AI never makes the decisions. Real people do. Our recruiters and hiring managers handle every final call. And we regularly review how the tool is used to keep things fair, ethical, and compliant with data protection laws. Curious about how it works? You can always ask how AI was used in your application - it won't affect your chances in any way.

From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses, to supporting their clients to arrange 'me time' moments, we're in the business of elevating people - helping them to thrive and feel fantastic. Lifting others up can be hard, heavy work, and we passionately believe that the sense of purpose and personal satisfaction this brings are worth it.

What started in Poland is now an international, cloud-based marketplace that's scaling rapidly. We bring independent business owners together with their customers on a product that connects creative communities and opens up worlds of opportunities.

For our providers, our products offer services for getting booked, paid, and building a loyal client base. For their clients, we're where they can find their favourite spots, discover new businesses and book appointments in an instant.

Working in a rapidly growing, ever-changing scale-up comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges. If you prefer a stable environment, with clear processes and structures then, we've got to be honest, you won't always find that here. However, if you enjoy inventively solving problems with others, helping create clarity when things get confusing, and prioritising your own path within ambiguity, then the chances are that you'll love the opportunities available to grow your career at Booksy.

The people you'll like to work with and things you'll enjoy impacting:

As an AI Native Software Engineer reporting to the People Technology Manager in our People & Culture team, your purpose will be to work out what AI could do here that nobody has thought to ask for yet - and then build it.

This is a brand new role, so a lot of it is yours to define. Specifically, you will:

• Experiment first. We have used AI for the things we already knew AI could do. Your job starts where that stops.
• Build what you propose. Ideas are the starting point, not the deliverable. You will take concepts through to working proofs of concept.
• Ship AI-first features from ideation to launch, working agent-first rather than retrofitting AI onto existing tools.
• Work across Product & Tech. You will have a mentor in our engineering organisation and your career will be levelled there - not siloed inside People & Culture.
• Partner with experienced engineers, product managers and designers to get things live.

Essentially, to ensure you succeed in this role you're going to need...

• Commercial experience in software engineering or another technical role - however you arrived there, and whatever you did before that.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini and Cursor, plus a working understanding of agentic workflows and concepts like MCP.
• Confidence in at least one modern programming language - Python or JavaScript.
• A portfolio, open-source contribution or project you can walk us through. We care more about what you have built than where you built it.
• Fluency in English. Why? English is our company language and is used for any business-wide communications, so we need you to be able to speak English to feel like an integrated part of Booksy.

It will also help you to have...

• Open-source contributions with a visible history we can look at.
• Something you have built with agentic frameworks or MCP that went beyond following a tutorial.
• Exposure to Google Cloud.

We work in a highly creative and diverse industry so it goes without saying that we strive to create an inclusive environment for all. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to fair consideration in our hiring process. If you have any accessibility needs or require reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please contact us at [email protected], so we can best support you.

Kindly submit your application and CV in English to ensure it is successfully reviewed.
